1765 Soldier Rations
Monthly Soldier Diet Allowance
1 pound of fresh meat during 16 days,
10 ounces of salted meat during 9 days
5 ounces of cod during 5 days
30 ounces of rice every day
1 ounce of oil when eating fish
1 and a half quart small wine
6 salt bushel for a thousand men
3 pounds of charcoal
1 half liter of vinegar for 6 men
1 half liter of rum for 6 men
1 ounce of tobacco
The list doesn't include the cassava, but it is known that it was received. The exiled, prisoners, and slaves consume the same diet as the soldiers, but with no wine, oil, cod, or imported products. Fish were abundant and should be included in the list.
